EcoVadis (2023)

Since 2022, Dr. Weigert has voluntarily participated in the EcoVadis sustainability rating. For 2023, we completed this rating with a bronze medal, which means that Dr. Weigert is among the top 50 % of all companies assessed. This shows us that we are still on the right track with our sustainability goals.

Through a new rating scale of Ecovadis we have achieved bronze, which means that we still have to do some things even better. Dr. Weigert is facing up to this responsibility and is working intensively on further sustainability measures. This year, these include the preparation of an accessible sustainability report in accordance with the German Sustainability Code (DNK) and the recording of the corporate carbon footprint. In order to create the greatest possible transparency with regard to the EcoVadis rating, we would like to continue to address some of the decisive factors of the rating/ranking:

• In the overall evaluation, Dr. Weigert improved in absolute terms from 56 to 57 points. This shows that Dr. Weigert has done several things better than the year before.
• The bronze medal results from the relative ranking of Dr. Weigert in relation to other companies. In this sense, we welcome the fact that the overall level has shifted upwards and that we are part of this development (in terms of the absolute points rating).
• We are convinced that, as a medium-sized company, we fulfil many criteria very well, particularly with regard to social sustainability (ethics, labour and human rights). Deficits in this respect do not arise primarily and comprehensively from our current actions, but from the required reporting and documentation standards, which obviously require a more time-intensive examination.

Dr. Weigert is aware that the complexity of the sustainability issue requires a constant learning process from us. However, as a successful company with a long tradition in the field of hygiene, we know very well how to deal with essential challenges. This knowledge is also an incentive to make further important contributions to a sustainable world in the future.
