In April, the “Girls’ and Boys’ Day” (Future Day) was held again at Dr. Weigert in Hamburg, too. The German Future Day for secondary school students aged around 11 to 15 is intended to promote gender-neutral career choices and give them an impression of various professional fields.
At Dr. Weigert, the three participants this year not only got to see what their grandfather’s or uncle’s workplace was like, but also gained fascinating insights into marketing, purchasing and the special world of microbiology. In the laboratory, they could get into the spirit of research with small experiments. The program gave the children a chance to go around various departments and take a look behind the scenes, for example in dosing technology. The Future Day was lots of fun for everyone involved!
